European monetary policy is being put increasingly under strain, but Norway is unlikely to follow others into negative interest rate territory, Norges Bank governor Øystein Olsen said today (October 1).

Many central banks in Europe have pushed rates below zero, including the European Central Bank (ECB), Sveriges Riksbank, National Bank of Denmark and Swiss National Bank. But no one is certain how low is too low.
