Kuroda affirms determination to ‘drastically convert’ Japan’s deflationary mindset
Governor says Japan will keep taking its medicine for as long as necessary
Haruhiko Kuroda, the governor of the Bank of Japan (BoJ), today stressed his determination to continue with drastic policy action until Japan's "deflationary mindset" is broken.
In his first speech since the BoJ ramped up its programme of quantitative easing (QE) last week, Kuroda said the central bank was looking to "drastically convert" Japan's deflationary mindset into something that closer resembles households in the US.
Currently, Kuroda said, Japanese people derive inflation expectations
