
Central Bank of Turkey calls emergency meeting

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey's (CBRT) monetary policy committee will hold an emergency meeting on Tuesday evening "to discuss recent developments and take the necessary policy measures for price stability", the bank said in a statement after the lira fell to new lows earlier today.
A "decision will be announced at 24:00 hours" (10pm GMT) in a press release posted on the CBRT website, according to the bank.
The lira was trading at 2.37 against the dollar at 10:00 GMT this morning –
