Bank of Finland reviews policy implications of labour immobility


A Bank of Finland research newsletter, published on Monday, looks at the implications resource mobility in the labour force has on monetary policy objectives and the monetary transmission mechanism.

The newsletter summarises discussions between academics and policymakers at a conference on Monetary Policy Under Resource Mobility held in Helsinki, Finland, on May 5 and 6.

In his opening remarks, Jouko Vilmunen, the head of research at the Bank of Finland, said that while the basic New Keynesian
