
ECB official praises Slovakia's euro entry
The changeover from Slovak koruna to euro , which took place in January, was very smooth, said Jose Manuel Gonzalez-Paramo, a member of the European Central Bank's Executive Board.
Gonzalez-Paramo also said that the changeover to euro cash in January 2002, when banknotes and coins of the national currencies were replaced, was one of the largest logistical operations undertaken in Europe.
