Kevin Warsh was sworn in as chairman of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System on May 22 replacing Jerome Powell, following a protracted nomination process. Warsh – who served as a Fed governor from 2006 to 2011 – is said to be keen to cut interest rates, shrink the Fed’s balance sheet, reform communications and operations, and keep the Fed out of climate and DEI issues. Powell plans to stay on as a Fed governor until the Department of Justice’s criminal
