The Bank for International Settlements unveiled a series of senior appointments today (May 12).

The BIS board has elected Fabio Panetta, governor of the Bank of Italy, as its new chair. Panetta will serve a three-year term starting on June 3. He will take over from François Villeroy de Galhau, who is due to step down as governor of the Banque de France (BdF) in June, when he will also leave the BIS.
