People: Macron nominates ex-chief of staff to take over at BdF

France’s president Emmanuel Macron has nominated his former chief of staff, Emmanuel Moulin, to become the next governor of the country’s central bank. Moulin began his career at the World Bank, before going on to become an adviser to president Nicolas Sarkozy. If his nomination is approved, he will take over in June from François Villeroy de Galhau, who announced in February that he would be stepping down early as governor of the Banque de France. 

Villeroy de Galhau’s term was due to end next
