People: Braddick to take charge at UK’s prudential watchdog

Plus: BoE also appoints first executive director for monetary policy

Katharine Braddick is to become the Bank of England’s next deputy governor for prudential regulation and chief executive of the UK’s Prudential Regulation Authority. 

She will take over for a five-year term on July 1 when Sam Woods, who has been deputy governor for prudential regulation since 2016, steps down. 

In her new role, Braddick will lead the PRA’s work in regulating and supervising banks, building societies, insurers and major investment firms. She will sit on the BoE’s prudential
