Grant Spencer joins while Goldman alum Byron Pepper is reappointed

The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has made two appointments to its governing board.

Grant Spencer is to serve a five-year term effective from today (July 1). Spencer is a former deputy governor, acting governor and head of financial stability at the bank. He is also an adjunct professor at Victoria University of Wellington, where his academic interests include financial regulation and macroeconomics.

In a statement, the chair of the RBNZ’s board, Neil Quigley, said Spencer’s appointment would
