
People: Israel appoints new chief supervisor

Israel: The Bank of Israel appointed Daniel Hahiashvili as the new supervisor of banks, succeeding Yair Avidan with effect from June 22.
Hahiashvili is a Bank of Israel veteran who joined the central bank in 2002. In 2014, then-governor Karnit Flug appointed Hahiashvili as her chief of staff.
Four years later, he became head of the technology and innovation division in the banking supervision department. Hahiashvili holds a master’s in economics and business administration from the Hebrew
