Saudi Arabia appoints new governor

Alsayari is promoted from vice-governor while Almubarak moves to royal court

Ayman Alsayari was appointed governor of Saudi Arabia’s central bank on February 2.

He was previously vice-governor for investment and research at the Saudi Central Bank (Sama). Before his most recent post, to which he was appointed in July 2022, Alsayari was deputy governor for investment from 2013, and a vice-governor from 2019.

He has an MBA from George Washington University in the US, and took courses in public administration at Harvard University.
