People: RBNZ completes leadership reshuffle

New Zealand: The Reserve Bank of New Zealand (RBNZ) has appointed Karen Silk as assistant governor and general manager of economics, financial markets and banking. As part of her new role, she will serve on the monetary policy committee.

Christian Hawkesby, who previously held the assistant governor role, was appointed deputy governor of the RBNZ in January.

Silk is currently a general manager with Westpac New Zealand, a private bank. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications
