People: Knot to assume FSB chairmanship

New board members appointed at central banks in Brazil and Peru

Basel: The governor of the Netherlands Bank (DNB), Klaas Knot, will assume the role of chair of the Financial Stability Board on December 1.

He succeeds outgoing chair Randal Quarles, who will soon also step down as a governor at the Federal Reserve. Knot, who is currently vice-chair of the FSB, will serve as chair until December 1, 2024.

A spokesperson for the FSB said the organisation currently did not plan to appoint a new vice-chair.
