People: ECB appoints director-general for international relations

Vansteenkiste replaces veteran Klöckers; head of IMF’s capacity development institute retires

Eurozone: The European Central Bank’s executive board has appointed Isabel Vansteenkiste as director-general for European and international relations, it announced on September 13.

Vansteenkiste is currently the ECB’s deputy director-general for monetary policy, and was previously its deputy-director general for economics. She is a Belgian citizen who has worked at the ECB since 2002.
