IMF’s Lipton and Grasso step down amid ‘changes’ to top leadership
Kristalina Georgieva is shaking up fund’s top management team
The International Monetary Fund’s first deputy managing director, David Lipton, is to step down as part of leadership changes being implemented by managing director Kristalina Georgieva.
Carla Grasso, chief administrative officer and deputy managing director will also leave the fund. Both will depart at the end of February.
In a statement, the IMF said the two officials are leaving “in the context of changes [Georgieva] will be making to the leadership team”.
