Washington, DC: The governor of the Bank of Ghana, Ernest Addison, has been appointed chairman of the board of governors for the International Monetary Fund and World Bank.

The board is the highest decision-making body of both institutions and while most of its powers have been delegated to the executive directorate, it still retains the right to approve key measures, including quota increases, special drawing right allocations, the admittance and withdrawal of new members and amendments to
