People: Estonia appoints new deputy governor

Appointments in Estonia and India, while one official steps down at the Bank of Israel

Estonia: The supervisory board of the Bank of Estonia appointed Maive Rute as a new deputy governor at a meeting on July 29.

She was proposed by governor Madis Müller, who said he saw “great value” in the “versatile academic qualifications and professional experience” Rute would bring to the role.

As well as having held senior positions at the European Commission, she has worked in business and in research programmes, including as chief executive of KredEx, a foundation that works to support
