Ethiopian government appoints new bank governor
No reason given for replacement as new prime minister announces major economic liberalisation
Ethiopia’s government has reportedly appointed a new central bank governor after dismissing the incumbent.
State-controlled media announced on June 18 that Yinager Dessie had been named head of the National Bank of Ethiopia, replacing Teklewold Atnafu, Reuters said. Dessie was described as a former head of Ethiopia’s national planning commission.
