People: Bank of Canada deputy resigns and returns to San Fran Fed

Canada: Bank of Canada deputy governor Sylvain Leduc has left his role there to rejoin the Federal Reserve of San Francisco, the bank announced on June 13.

In a statement thanking Leduc for his work, BoC governor Stephen Poloz called him “a wonderful addition to the governing council”. Poloz said the bank had “benefited from his policy expertise and from his strong sense of teamwork”.

Leduc was appointed as one of the BoC’s four deputy governors in May 2016. He was one of two deputy governors
