People: Lautenschläger for ECB board; IMF's García set for Chile central bank

European Central Bank: Sabine Lautenschläger is set to succeed fellow German Jörg Asmussen on the ECB's governing council, after she was nominated for the post by the Council of the European Union today.

Lautenschläger is currently vice-president at the Deutsche Bundesbank, where she is responsible for banking and financial supervision. She has previously worked for the European Banking Authority and the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.
