Bank of Canada's Tiff Macklem quits half way through seven-year term
Tiff Macklem, senior deputy governor at the Bank of Canada, is quitting the bank to become dean of the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. Macklem, who was appointed for a seven-year term in 2010, announced yesterday that he will leave the bank on May 1 next year.
As senior deputy governor, Macklem is the bank's chief operating officer as well as a member of its board of directors. He oversees the bank's strategic planning and operations and, as a member of the governing council
