
Nigerian bank responds to central bank call for more female leadership

The United Bank for Africa (UBA), a Nigerian financial services provider today (August 13) announced the appointment of two women to the banking group's board. The selection of Rose Ada Okwechime and Owanari Duke brings the number of women on the board to four.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed that the appointments were partly in response to a call from the Central Bank of Nigeria for banks to increase the female representation in senior management positions.
