Trump calls for Fed governor Cook to resign

Federal Housing Finance Agency director accuses the governor of mortgage fraud

US president Donald Trump has called for Lisa Cook, a governor of the Federal Reserve, to resign.

Trump posted on social media on August 20: “Cook must resign, now!!!”.

The president’s post came after Trump appointee Bill Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, alleged Cook had committed mortgage fraud. In a letter to attorney general Pam Bondi dated August 15, Pulte recommended criminal prosecution on the basis that Cook falsified bank documents and property records as a means to
