Over half of ECB staff think Lagarde’s work is poor, union claims

ECB rejects survey as flawed and says its own figures show high levels of pride among staff

More than 50% of the European Central Bank’s staff have a low opinion of president Christine Lagarde’s performance, a labour union representing employees has claimed. 

The IPSO staff association said its survey of ECB employees found that more than half of the respondents thought Lagarde’s performance was “poor” or “very poor”. It also said the survey results, released today (January 23) showed 58% of staff had little or no trust in the ECB’s executive board. 

An ECB spokesperson told Central
