World Bank president to step down in June
Malpass to leave office early in June after sparking climate change controversy
David Malpass will step down as president of the World Bank in June, the institution announced on February 15.
It is not clear why Malpass is leaving almost a year before the end of his five-year term. He caused considerable controversy in September with remarks that cast doubt on the contribution of fossil fuels to global warming.
