Polish Senate to decide on new MPC member

Rafał Sura resigned from Poland’s monetary policy council several months early, media outlets reported on July 18, with his successor likely to be nominated by opposition parties.

Sura’s term on the National Bank of Poland’s MPC was due to end in November. He is a lawyer and is leaving to become a judge on Poland’s Supreme Administrative Court.

His replacement will be named by the upper house of Poland’s parliament, where opposition parties have a majority. There is a dispute between Poland’s
