Nine officials at the National Bank of Ukraine have resigned in protest today (June 30) over what they allege are highly questionable supervisory decisions.

The head of the licensing department, Oleksandr Bevz, told Central Banking that he and eight colleagues could not support some of the NBU’s actions. “We were continuing doing our job as we believe we have to do, but from day to day certain cases happened which unfortunately made us believe that we are moving in the wrong way,” he said.
