The US government has imposed sanctions on the Ukrainian billionaire who has been accused by a former central bank governor of waging a campaign against it.

Secretary of state Anthony Blinken issued a statement on March 5 announcing that the administration of US president Joe Biden was sanctioning Ihor Kolomoisky. Blinken said the US government had sanctioned Kolomoisky “due to his involvement in significant corruption” as governor of Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk province from 2014 to 2015.
