Ukrainian security warns Gontareva over ‘Central Banking’ article

Ukraine’s state security service has publicly warned the country’s former central bank governor Valeria Gontareva over criticisms of the government she made in an interview with Central Banking. 

Gontareva told Central Banking on July 6 that the International Monetary Fund should suspend all further payments to Ukraine unless the government defended central bank independence. On July 8, Ukraine’s State Security Service, or SBU, issued a formal statement referring to Gontareva’s interview and
