Ukrainian TV show mocks central bank ex-governor over physical attacks

Channel is owned by businessman accused by Gontareva of stealing billions from bank

A Ukrainian television programme broadcast a song mocking recent alleged attacks on a former central bank governor. Several local commentators said this continued what the National Bank of Ukraine has called a campaign of intimidation against current and former officials over the nationalisation of the country’s biggest bank.

The programme is linked to the country’s president and was broadcast on a channel owned by a businessman at the centre of the country’s biggest banking scandal.
