Trump nominates two candidates for Fed board

Donald Trump

President Donald Trump has nominated conservative economist Judy Shelton and St Louis Fed research director Christopher Waller to the Federal Reserve Board.

Following Trump’s July 2 statements on Twitter, the two will now face the Senate confirmation process.

Shelton has previously been confirmed by the Senate for her current role as US executive director at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which may boost her chances this time.
