Slovakian president says new governor must give up party ties

Slovakia’s president confirmed the country’s finance minister as its next central bank governor, but told him to cut his links with politics.

President Andrej Kiska formally appointed Peter Kažimir to be the next governor of the National Bank of Slovakia today (March 13). Kažimir will take up the role on June 1.
