EU ombudsman asks Draghi to relinquish G30 seat
The European Ombudsman has recommended Mario Draghi “suspend” his membership of the Group of 30 for the remainder of his term, following a year-long enquiry.
In a statement released January 17, Emily O’Reilly says the “ECB president’s continued membership of the G30 could undermine public confidence in the independence of the ECB”.
