José Darío Uribe has been the governor of the Banco de la República since January 2005. Prior to that, he had worked as the deputy governor of the central bank starting in January 1998 and as the director of the bank’s research department from September 1993 to 1998. Before joining the central bank, he was a unit director for the National Planning Department and economic adviser for the National Federation of Coffee Growers.
