Denmark’s Bernstein proposes UK-style merger between central bank and regulator

Denmark's central bank is pushing to gain more power over financial regulation.

Nils Bernstein, the governor of the National Bank of Denmark, told Børsen, a Danish newspaper, on Wednesday that a "partial merger" between the central bank and the Danish Financial Services Authority (FSA) would improve collaboration with the two institutions and prevent a recurrence of the financial crisis.

"We can see a trend in Europe and internationally which involves some kind of fusion between central banks
