The National Bank of Kazakhstan is launching an overhaul of its interbank card payments infrastructure, with the aim of cutting costs and boosting competition.

The initiative aims to improve the infrastructure that lies between banks and clearing systems, ensuring the "continuity and completeness" of card payments and improving efficiency, according to a statement released by the central bank today (October 27).
