Sarb reveals details of new banknotes

The governor of the South African Reserve Bank (Sarb), Gill Marcus, on September 5 presided over the launch of a nationwide communication campaign to inform the public about the introduction of a new series of banknotes.

The revamped currency will feature a portrait of Nelson Mandela, the first president to be democratically elected in the country, and will be in circulation in South Africa before the end of the year.
