Banking risk is spilling over into other sectors – panel
Supervisor says ‘we don’t know’ how to regulate networks that commercial banks rely on
Lenders are becoming increasingly reliant on “third parties, cloud services and other financial institutions” to provide their services, a panellist told the Central Banking Meetings London on June 11.
A banking supervisor at a central bank in Europe said that “risk is no longer necessarily contained in one balance sheet. Instead it’s being transmitted from the bank to all these other parties.”
