Basel Committee finalises climate principles

Committee also pushes forward with crypto asset regulations

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) finalised a set of principles for managing and supervising climate-related financial risks at its latest meeting.

In a statement on May 31, the committee said it would publish the final version of its “principles-based approach to improving risk management and supervisory practices” in the coming weeks. The BCBS held a consultation on the proposals in 2021.
