UK financial firms worried by pandemic risks – BoE survey

Market participants cited cyber risk as the most challenging to address

The UK’s financial market participants rank Covid-19 as their most worrying source of risk, according to the Bank of England’s latest Systemic Risk Survey.

The BoE temporarily stopped undertaking the biannual survey in 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, but resumed again this year.

It carried out this latest survey between August 16 and September 7. The survey asked participants to give a numerical ranking to each risk, with pandemic risk achieving the highest mean score.
