ECB paper examines low inflation’s impact on Asia
Researchers study impact of downside inflationary shocks on 12 of region’s largest economies
A working paper published by the European Central Bank looks at the very different impacts of low inflation on 12 of the largest Aisan economies.
In Inflation trends in Asia: implications for central banks, Juan Angel Garcia and Aubrey Poon say that investigating these economies provides “important insights on inflation dynamics and inflation expectations”.
They argue that “the disinflationary shocks that hit the region since 2014 were partly transitory, but their effects have been different
