EU deposit guarantee schemes must improve – EBA

Rules must give more protection to depositors and address AML concerns, EBA says

The European Banking Authority recommended serious changes to the oversight of deposit guarantee schemes, (DGSs), saying some depositors have recently been left without access to funds.

The EBA made a series of recommendations to the European Commission, in an opinion published on October 30, on its implementation of the deposit guarantee schemes directive.
