Sudan central bank again pledges new banknotes as crisis continues

Sudan’s central bank has again said it will introduce new high-denomination banknotes, while its governor has pledged to seek foreign funds to deal with the country’s economic crisis.

The Central Bank of Sudan announced on January 17 that it was introducing new 100 Sudanese pound banknotes in early February, according to Middle East Monitor. But the CBOS announced the same measure on September 30 last year. The central bank did not acknowledge that it was unable to fulfil its commitment to
