Bank of Ghana places troubled UniBank under administration

Central bank says it has made several attempts to save the mid-sized lender since 2016

The Bank of Ghana has placed one of the country’s medium-sized banks under the administration of KPMG, after several attempts to stabilise the institution failed.

The appointment of KPMG is aimed at saving UniBank from “imminent collapse”, the central bank says in a statement released on March 20.
