‘Absolutely urgent’ for Mexico to strengthen fiscal stance – Sánchez

Deputy governor, Manuel Sánchez, stresses need for fiscal policy

It is "absolutely urgent" that Mexico strengthens its fiscal stance in an "unambiguous" way, according to deputy governor of the Bank of Mexico, Manuel Sánchez.

During a speech centred on the nation's relationship with the United States on September 15, Sánchez stressed the Mexican government needed to cut public expenditure "significantly" to stabilise and eventually reduce, total government debt to GDP.
