Flug outlines state of play on Israeli credit information database
Governor says new database will strike a balance between being comprehensive and relevant
The Bank of Israel will strike a balance between breadth and relevance when deciding what to include in its new credit information database, governor Karnit Flug told the country’s Economic Affairs Committee today (March 14).
The database will be established and operated by the central bank. It will, she said, serve as an “additional tool in increasing competition” in the banking sector, expanding access to credit, while helping the central bank monitor developments in the market.
Flug noted she
