Netherlands Bank says ECB’s asset quality review necessary to restore market confidence


The European Central Bank's (ECB) forthcoming asset quality review will help to restore market confidence and make it easier for European banks to strengthen their balance sheets, according to the Netherlands Bank.

In its latest financial stability review, released last week, the Dutch central bank pointed to the lack of confidence in financial markets as a millstone around the neck of the European recovery.
