
Central banks well placed to deliver on macro-prudential policy, says ECB’s Constâncio

European Central Bank (ECB) vice-president Vitor Constâncio stressed the importance of central banks in the creation of a new macro-prudential framework for the eurozone in comments made to a Centre for Financial Studies meeting in Frankfurt on March 27. The details of the presentation were published today (April 5).
The ECB governing board council member added that central banks are "well placed to play a role in macro-prudential surveillance".
Constâncio said a macro-prudential policy remit
