Bundesbank’s Dombret backs temporary higher capital buffers for European banks


Andreas Dombret, a member of the Bundesbank's executive board, on Wednesday said he was in favour of introducing a temporary higher capital requirement for European banks to restore confidence to financial markets.

At the ICFR Annual International Regulatory Summit in Berlin, Germany, Dombret said: "A core tier 1 ratio for systemically relevant banks in Europe of 9% after realistic mark-to-market of risks, introduced with the right sense of proportion, could be feasible and could provide
